NSPCC visit
We had a visit from Buddy the speech bubble and representatives from the NSPCC. They came to tell all the children all about the NSPCC and how to understand their rights. Buddy explained to the children about how to stay safe and what to do if they ever felt unsafe. Year 5 and 6 had a workshop in which they learnt about how they would react if they were put into certain situations that made them feel unsafe. They worked in groups to decide how they should react and who they should tell. Oak and Pine learnt about Childline and its purpose and importance for those children in the United Kingdom who may be in difficult situations. Buddy and the NSPCC will be back in our school next week – Tuesday 19th September – to carry out Buddy’s Big Workout. The children will be bringing home sponsorship forms to try raising money to support the work the NSPCC do to keep children safe. Children will not be pressurized into bringing in sponsorship, as little or as much as you feel comfortable; the event is purely a continuation of the Workshops already received and a way of ‘giving-back’ to the Charity.
