Remembrance Day 2019
Remembrance day Over the past few weeks the children at Plymtree primary school have been wearing poppies and learning about the veterans who died or were injured fighting for our country and how they owe their freedom to these brave men and women.
Pupils also learnt about all the people who put them who risk their lives on a daily basis going to dangerous situations in this country and other parts of the world.Head of school Mrs Alex Cutler lead a Remembrance worship and assembly; the choir sang 'Keep the home fires burning' and the children’s ethos read a special prayer they had written in the church. At the end of the two minutes silence three of the older children read 'in Flanders fields' by John McRae the children were then able to go and explore creatively ways in which Remembrance Day can be commemorated. We have lots of work that we are truly proud of and we are displaying in our school hall.
